Path of Beauty Productions · The Huntoons
Four makers, one path of beauty.
Everything on this site was made by four people over twenty-five years, and gathered here from the two places they published it. Their words are theirs. Their credits are theirs. Nothing has been rewritten.
The makers
The four makers
Four people made everything in this archive, over a quarter of a century, on the road and in one studio in Sarasota. Each has a page here holding their own words and their own photographs.
Barbara Huntoon
Voice, film, production
Founded Path of Beauty Productions. Sang, filmed, produced, and kept the record.
Rex A. Begaye
Diné painter · 1998–2013
The legacy this whole archive was built to preserve. Every page here is downstream of his work.
Felix Duenas
Incan painter and percussionist
Fifty years of paintings and three hundred shows a year. The other half of The Huntoons.
Wildfire
Native American flute
A fire dancer by night, a flute player by day. Her debut CD was played on Rex’s own flute collection.
This is the companion archive, not the Initiative itself
Barbara Huntoon's Four Point Peace Initiative — the America First Native Art Initiative 250, dated December 2025 — is a separate document with its own site, where you can read and hear the whole of it beside Rex A. Begaye's pen-and-ink plates. This archive holds the photographs, films and credits from her two public sites, gathered so the Initiative has a picture library to draw on.
Sound
Four voices you can start yourself
Four points, four voices, one clock. Synthesised live in your browser — there is no audio file anywhere on this site, and none of the music on these pages has been copied. Turn the voices on and off and listen to them find each other.
Path of Beauty Productions
Welcome to Path of Beauty Productions
Welcome to Path of Beauty Productions, founded by Barbara Huntoon, inspired from many years of traveling to art events while filming, printing, matting, framing along the way, as (the late) Rex A. Begaye and Barbara lived for 15 years, throughout the Native American and fine art circuit. His passing in 2013 inspired her mission to preserve his legacy of art, music, film and photography, which this studio provided and served us beautifully through the lockdown.
The space was a former dog kennel, and over a 4+ year period, it became a fine art gallery, apothecary, recording studio, print frame shop, musical rehearsal studio with a small organic food forest.
The Path of Beauty Production studio was a place to focus on creation and production through the C19 lockdown. Originally a gallery was to be opened, then the focus was redirected by the circumstances, so it became a “Creation Station” for art, music, dance, natural medicine and organic gardening and cooking.
At the end of 2022 the studio building was sold and what remains are the progression of film, photography and recordings that took place, this will be one of several films in production.

I love you
It is already in the archive — written in the snow, photographed, and set beside a song called Song of Love. It was here before this site was. It is just being said again.
